We booked our holiday through Incredible Tours To India. Ganpat organised our itinerary after we expressed what we wanted to see. This was done through Whats App and he responded very quickly. This involved car, rail and internal flights. The tour guides in Dehli, Agra, Jodphur and Varanasi were excellent as were the drivers. There were 2 places where we didn't receive guides - Mumbai and Shimla.
We were given a list of hotels to choose from 3/4* star to 5 star luxury. With the exception of one (Snow Valley Resort, Shimla) we weren't disappointed. There were several hotels that were outstanding - Deogarh Mahal, Lacksmann Sagar, Balsamand Lake Palace, Maidens Oberoi, and Clarkes in Shimla (we moved to this hotel ourselves as the Snow Valley was awful). What we should have paid more attention to was the locations of the hotels as some were away from local restaurants. This was really the Trident Hotels and the Radisson Blu in Amritsar. We don't always want to eat in hotels.
There was a mixture of travel times in the car. Unfortunately the train from Amritsar to Chandigarh was cancelled which meant we had an extra train, tuk tuk, and a bus journey to meet up with our driver again as he had already left for Chandigarh by car. Will definitely go back to India!
